You really hate it? I confess, when I bought it my driving experience was different. The extra cogs do make a difference. I know this may sound crazy, but it is as if my truck learned how I like to drive it, but it drives better now than when I bought it. The 6 speed is awesome. No matter what speed, if I gun it the truck flies. It is very responsive at any speed. I think it really helps the 5.3 shine. I took it into the mountains this past summer and it never looked back.

Gm's trucks actually do learn your driving style. IDK I still like the good ol 4 speeds. If you wanna give me six gears give me a manual.

But on the brushed aluminum. Why is it in the yukon and not the tahoe???

Could you give the steps? Was it hard? Got any pics?? :D

Is it necessary to remove the airbag to replace these trim pieces?

There are 4 small holes in the back of the wheel directly behind these trim pieces, so I wondered if they are for screws or clips?

So did anyone ever find out how difficult it is to replace the cover? Does the airbag have to be disabled? Anybody got the steps?

Here are the steps for removing the airbag. Beware of the gay Kenny G music, I did not put this together. I am contemplating doing this because I also want to replace my emblem on the steering wheel that was damaged in a fit of road rage from the previous owner.

Here is the airbag disarm video as well.

the peeling i believe is from your greasy dirty hands constantly rubbing the same spot
as you drive every single day. i can see rub marks starting to form on my 01 tahoe and even my 05 malibu has it. also occurs when a figgity wife starts picking at one single spot on the wheel and gets bigger over time!
