Does my 99 yukon 4x4 not have a Steering Stabilizer?

Is it one of those universal ones?

They normally don't put those on newer vehicles. I've only seen them on old pickups.

well i ordered one thinking it would just bolt on and replace the old one but i guess you have to weld it onto the frame for it to work properly, btw my 88 benz has one so age may not be a factor.

I was wondering though if 2wd hoes/yukon would have them since theres not bulking front axle to deal with?

No, your truck would not have one from the factory. My IFS lift kit has tabs for adding one, but generally they are not used on IFS vehicles and I think it would be very hard to do on stock IFS. They are generally for SFA vehicles.

+1.

From the factory, our OBS did not come with steering stabilizers. However, to add one, they're all bolt on. Check the web (i.e. youtube) and there may be a how-to for installation.

Also, for IFS steering stabilizers can be beneficial, esp for larger tires and reducing bump steer. I'm actually installing mine next week and will throw up some photos for you....just remind me b/c I may forget!

Thanks for the info guys and i will definitely check the progress you make on yours before i throw in the towel, (mine is still in the mail). I have seen some installations online but they are not very clear on the specifics and have limited visual aids, I can handle some wrenching but welding is out of my playing field.

I installed on on our 97 2 door, fwd.... We installed 265 70 17 tires from a later Z71 and found the install makes keeping the steering wheel in my daughters hands easier ... Our local alignment shop also said it will aid in reducing some wear items... It was bolt-on, Pro Comp
