Dome light mod write up!!!

I was looking at my dome lights tonight before i ordered my LED kit form HID guy and noticed half of the light i cut off and blocked by something. notice in pic below:




So I decided to investigate! A quick pop out of the lens revealed two metal shields. Pictured below:






I noticed that they were just crimped on to plastic tabs so I decided, "what the hell" and popped 'em off.







Boy am I pleased with the result. 10x brighter than before. Awesome free mod to make it brighter even if you have LED's. IMO

I'll try to take some night pics later. I am super pleased with this mood and did it to the 2nd row dome and the cargo area dome.

Funny part is I like this mod however my kids like the fact that the reading lights for the rear shine just right on their seats. maybe ill do the rear and leave the middle alone!

Every time I look at my domes, I think about doing this. But I like the second row lights to shine on the second row instead of bleeding off to the front. Like ajaxnxs I will try this on the third row domes. I can always use more light back there.
