Loving my 2010 PPV but it sure would be nice to have the dome lights turn on when you open the door. I've searched and have kinda found that GM may have programmed these out of the cars logic to help our boys in blue stay stealthy...

So the question is, can my local dealer turn this function back on by reprogramming the BCM with a TechII or did they simply unhook a wire somewhere?

Also wanted to do activate the door lock/alarm alert but I've been able to convince myself this is a dealer TechII job...

Any thoughs on this? Thanks, Ken

I didn't get mine too long ago, still playing with it. I'm familiar with the switch, but whatever I did everything is working like a civilian's now. :)

Dome light on and stays on for a while when I get out. (Remote start shows lights too...)

Possible the switches are little iffy?
And of course we assume you played with the top switch, and rotated the dimmer switch.

Ok I know this sounds stupid but did you pull the lenses, maybe someone pulled the bulbs out ! mine works just like MidwestMike's. If the bulbs are missing now would be a good time to upgrade to LEDS

Looks like I'm the stupid one....I thought the "switch" for the dome light was the brightness control and the fact that it toggles in and out was supposed to turn the light on and off. Only after rethinking it based on the post here did I find the other "switch". They work as they should!

And regarding the door lock/alarm chime, the dealer said it's a deeper programming issue than he can correct with the TechII so I guess that isn't going to happen.

Thanks for the help!
