My Tahoe driverside door keyhole has stopped working you put the key in to unlock it and it wont go either way the power locks still work and you can manually open it from the inside, was thinking maybe its something you could lube and it might work again, thanks for the help

Your lock cylinder pins may have finally given out but you can try using some graphite spray for lube in case the pins are sticking in the stationary cylinder. not expensive but a pain to replace.

Or else somebody tried to break into your truck by popping the lock with a screwdriver. See if it looks like there are any marks on the keyhole at all. If someone tried to force it, they could have simply broke the clip that attaches the lock to the lock rod in the door.

yea usually when the door Tumblers get worn, there isnt a permanent fix other than rebuilding the lock or replacing it.

happened to me

Newbie here weighing in, I think the rod that goes from the lock cylinder to the latch mechanism has fallen off, It happened to me in my 99 Tahoe 4dr. I removed the door panels and had to bend (re-crimp) the retainer clips that hold the rod in and reinstall the rod. I hope it helps you, it just takes time, it was a pain in the a$$ to get my big hands inside the door. hope my 2 cents help.

thats what I was thinking cause when this happened it was at a shop getting some work done and it was left outside a couple times cause there wasn't room inside, but there doesn't appear to be any marks around it

lol I got big hands too so that might be a problem here, when I feel like taking the panel off ill take a look and see if its anything simple like that

I had to go outside and look at my tahoe....I didn't even know there was a hole for a key to go in! I guess we really get spoiled with remote locks!! I also just found out last week that there's a key hole by the license plate. I thought it was to manually unlock the hatch door...you can imagine my surprise when I turned the key and the whole darn cylinder came out!! I didn't know it was a lock for the spare tire! But hey, I've only owned it for 8 years...:emotions122:
