So my rear drivers door had some issues opening unless you hit the unlock button at the right time. and for a while it wouldnt even lock, but now it works like it should with the locking mechanism, however you cannot open it from the inside, just the outside.

After a can of WD40 and some monkeying around I decided its the latch mechanism itself, and I am assuming the lock/latch are all one unit? thats my conclusion after beating my knuckles up...

if so, does anyone know where I can find a replacement? I am having a hard time locating one and I dont want to replace the door because of my graphics package

I believe you are experiencing a fairly common problem /weak point with Chevy trucks... my tahoe and my 97 3/4 ton had the same issue. If I am understanding your problem correctly you will definitely have to replace the assembly. There are several places online where you can purchase the assembly.... I'd try Amazon.com. I believe that O'Reilly or Autozone can get you the part as well.

I'm not sure of your application/color, but I believe this may be close to what you need... http://www.amazon.com/Chevrolet-Pickup-Drivers-Inside-Interior/dp/B002XYZYBG

thanks turk, but I already replaced the interior door handle, it was originally broken off.... so i drilled out the old rivets and put in new ones for the new handle. The latch i am talking about is the one on the side of the door that actually holds it shut, I am curious if that is one whole unit with the locking mechanism/power locks

I was thinking it was the interior handle not pulling the latch far enough but I replaced that. It seems to me like it has something to do with the latch itself

Forgive my impertinence, but make sure the child safety selector hasn't inadvertently been activated or partially bounced out of position. :)
