I have searched and cannot find anything specific to my issue so I don't know where to look first.

My 2007 Yukon SLE has an issue with the passenger door lock. The door latch locks and unlocks with the door switches or the remote, however if you go up to the door when it is locked it will allow the door to open halfway and sound the alarm. This is really annoying when someone goes to get in when the truck isn't in fact unlocked. It also will be in the locked position when the car is only unlocked on the driver door. I can open the door fully and the latch never goes up. This can be an issue if someone were to try to gain access to the vehicle when sitting or whatever.

Any clues as to what to check?

Thanks in advance.

Are you referring to the latch on the outside edge of the door that clamps to the door lock post?

Yes, just a thought, try that, other than that ya got me....

Pete, I will check it out. I don't mind tearing the door apart but have no clue what to look for and don't to just start changing things out.

Hard to see, i took a video but couldnt upload. With foor open and unlocked, push on the door latch a few times with screwdriver, like your closing the door and it latching on screwdriver, should click 2x, then open it with outside handle, do it a few times, spray some lube in there, white lithium grease works well, and see where that gets you... my 2 cents

Then check the truck side of the latch, make sure its not bent or loose etc. after that i would pull the door panel and lube the crap out of everything in there. It seems as if ur lock button isnt fully opening. Now im out of ideas. Maybe someone else knows.
