Ok I finally got my yukon back from the dealership after two weeks dealing with there mess ups. It went in two weeks ago for hail damage and got it back last week to find out that whoever put my headliner back they one had grease on there hands and left that shit all over my headliner. I was pissed and second which I found out after I picked up the car that my headliner was leaking from the sunroof into my truck and the driver side door. I took it back and they cleaned the headliner and snapped my drain plug back in. Now after all this is finally done I'm thinking about demolding it. Last year it snowed pretty good here in ol' south carolina and afterwards it left my door moldings looking like crap. The chevy dealership wanted to charge me $400 to repaint the moldings and the gmc dealership $100. While it was at the body shop the shop manager said that if I had them repainted they would end up like they are now. I can have them demolded and everything for $25. I just dont know if I'll like it demolded. What are some of yalls opinions?

MANY members on here have pulled the door moldings and in my opinion it looks very good. One issue with doing that however is door dings. Those are big doors with no protection without the moldings, but as long as you are careful you should be fine. This is also pretty easy to do yourself if you wanted too with a heat gun and a magic eraser wheel, but $25 is pretty cheap.

What color is your truck? Some people on here have had issues with sun fade in the paint and then when they pull the moldings there paint is slightly different color under the molding strips. Something to keep in mind. Good luck

Thanks conor. It is a like a sandstone color. I dont know what the color is exactly. Yeah I had my girlfriend take to the dealership so my friend ius taking them off right now. I told them to take the yujon emblems off as well since they would look awkward alone. Yeah $25 is cheap. I was thinking about buying the tool and checked ebay and it was like $20.

Yeah that's what I thought. Hell I gave him $40 since he did a good job plus all tge other emblems. Now I just need to claybar the area where the moldings were and a good wax job and it'll look purdy. Thanks man.
