What's the bar for that goes from where the door mounts to the vehicle? Everytime I open and close the doors, That bars popps and sqeaks. What's its purpose? Is there a way to fix it or can it simply be removed?

It's a door stop. It keeps the door from being opened to far and hitting the body. Years ago they just had it built into the hinge. I wouldn't recommend taking it off. have you tried a dry lubricant? silicone spray? Somewhere I read there is a replacement (updated) part for them.

Welcome to board. A lot of good info here. Be patient.

Links were redesigned. Get the newer ones (dealer, online, or junkyard). Now made of hard plastic. The metal wears away on the old ones and no amount of lube will help. Labor takes about 5 minutes for 3 bolts. My doors used to pop so loud it would wake up the baby.

Dealer description is a link. Rears and fronts are different. But the side are interchangeable. My problem was only the rears. Typically no issues for the fronts due to a different design. No idea why GM did that.

All 4 of mine are noisy. After a little digging and yalls help, ive found the part is called a door check strap, according to doorman. Uve found them on advance and autozone sites for $50 each and about $30 each on ebay. Seems a bit expensive, anybody seen them cheaper elsewhere?

Those prices are too high. Check your local dealer. Or a place like GMpartsdirect.com.
