door stuck shut!!!! outside and inside handle will not work

ok, i was doing the theft deterrent deal on my escalade and the ******* thing was working perfect, swapped the door handle and then i go to fill up gas about an hour later and boom. not working.

so no i cant get my door open..i have the door panel off about as much as i can manage, even though the front is wedged in to the dash.

any options please. before i rip the damn outside door handle of to assest the situation...im very unhappy with having to crawl inside and out of my truck.

Same thing happened with my buddy's truck... I think if you can get the door handle off, you might be able to reach the cable that's connected to it and open it.

Had this happen to my tahoe, was able to get the panel off with the door shut...but you may not need to, if you grab the actual door lock, the part that goes up and down, cycle it a couple times and then make sure it is all the way up, then try to open the door. I have seen it where the door lock does not release enough.

ok thanks for the help guys...got it figured out last night.

i tried the lock rod moving it up and down trying to get the door open..no luck.


so finally i said **** it, and just yanked the hell out of the outside door handle to even try and possibly rip it off. and on the third yank. boom door opened.

i modified it to where "hopefully" it works 100%
