doors auto lock with key in on position?

so today i installed a new drivers side door jamb switch on my 97 2 door tahoe, and now when i turn the key to the on position, the doors lock. if i have the door open and turn the key on, they dont lock. is it supposed to do this? if so, how to i disable it?

That's completely normal, but I don't know how to disable.

Mine do it but due to my viper I have dad gets pissy bout my alarm tho it auto arms after a bit turned off if I don't arm t myself

It was probably a factory add on for some? All I know is I have a viper and it does it and can confirm its the viper since I have a alarm cutoff switch
