I tried to replace my intermediate steering shaft tonight but found it to be too short. I verified the part number as supposed to being the correct one.
The install was very straight forward but i am about 3/4 inch too short in order to get everything hooked up.
I put the stock one back in and because it telescopes i can pull it to the right length. When both were out and put side by side the Dorman is just a smidge longer than the factory shaft fully compressed.

Any ideas?

Frustrating after working all day replacing the pitman and idler arms to only get stuck on the easiest part.

Hmmm, I just put one in the other day. It telescoped and pulled to the right length easily. That's odd...

I am stupid. With a simple pull everything lined up. I don't know what I was thinking and why that didnt occur to me before.
I will chalk this up to one of those over 40 brain fart moments.

Thanks for helping me get my brain working again.
