This is a question I had back in a few years ago when i was shopping for a new hu. dd or flip out? well i went with the flip out screen because of numerous reasons. I wanted security detachable face that way my hu wont be in display for thieves. I wanted the detachable piece to be small and easy to carry. I wanted the full 7" lcd display. But reason i got the flip out was because i liked the way it stands out and is more easy to control. The only cons i see is that you have to flip the screen out when you are in gear other than that everything is good. I went with clarion and im really glad i did. Im also a big fan of pioneer. Hope that helps.
