Well one thing on that video is for sure, the trucks sound much better than the first race; Fart-Can-Dan and his friend.

Not bad times Trav :waytogo: That would be a blast!!! I wonder what it'd due if you put different rims on the back with some drag radials or something :hmm:
It wouldn't do anything....because he didn't spin. :)

It wouldn't give him more traction at all? You'll have to pardon me if that is a dumb question. I know virtually nothing about drag racing or whatever other than I like seeing the cars and trucks go fast :D

Obviously you've never heard of inertia? It's a funny little thing that has to do with moving a heavy object, especially ones that roll. The difference in weight between stock wheels and 24s is mind blowing when looked at in a race point of view.

LOL you guys are nuts. I come from the mustang world so drag racing is nothing new to me. Ill be honest, a 10 flat in the 1/8 mile is VERY VERY VERY respectable for a truck. Great job guys!

Hahaha...no need to be a douche. I'm a mechanical engineer and I've been in the drag racing world for over a decade. I know what inertia is and I know drag racing....(see signature)

The guy said something about adding drag radials and implied that it would help traction. That's typically true, but since he didn't spin with the 24s, then drag radials wouldn't help if all other things remain equal.

If he went with some lightweight aluminum 16" or 17" wheels (as long as he doesn't have a big brake kit) then he would definitely see improvement.

Also, I couldn't agree more about his times. 10 flat is friggin great for a 6000 lb truck!

:waytogo: I'm actually learning a bit with this discussion :) When I originally mentioned drag radials I did mean on a set of 16 or 17" wheels as you mentioned. I just did not put that detail in there as I assumed it was implied. :) I'm not even sure they make drag radials for the 24's :D But this is educational for me nonetheless for someone who's not been in the drag racing world outside of just watching on TV sporadically :)

Yeah, I dont really see a need for drag radials on a 6lb truck unless you are pushing SERIOUS power.

To be honest, I have no idea what sizes you can get drag radials. I've never looked into buying them at all.... I have a set of Mickey Thompson ET Drag slicks for my Mustang. They're rad.
