It is a hydro...Whenever I get time I will do the front rubber lines and then find someone to do a Tech2 bleed
Similar thing happened to me, found the front soft lines would open just enough to apply the brakes, closed off after braking never releasing the fluid. New soft (brake line hoses) fixed the problem after the Tech2 assisted bleed.

What's the proper procedure to bleed the abs with a tech2? Have it activate the abs, then start bleeding the calipers 1 by 1?

from what I was told it does activate the ABS module....My brakes just didn't want to bleed properly. I took to a local small shop that had Tech2 and he said even he had a hard time getting a brake pedal he liked...but they are good to go now.
