At that mileage I would try some Marvel Mystery Oil. It has some unique properties and can quiet noisy lifters. It can be used with synthetic, just add it for the last 1000 miles of the oil change. There's a good forum on their Web site.

That's good to know. I've only got 75K on my Escalade but since it's a $7 part I picked on up and will probably change it out in the springtime while I'm doing other work.
I wouldn't change it yet. The mileage is too low. I would just add a cleaner before oil change, let it run for 5 min and drain oil, change, etc.

The screen that we are looking for is under the oil pressure sending switch at the back of the engine.. Here is a UTube clip on how to get at the filter screen. The oil pressure gauge will start acting screwy when the filter is clogging up. Key is to use good oil & filter and keep it clean. This is a 2 part view.

The only reason I'm contemplating it is I don't know the maintenance history for the first 70K miles. I only run synthetic in my vehicles but I don't know if the previous owners took care of the mechanical as well as they took care of the exterior and interior. I'm hoping so.
