Oh man, this was about 8 yrs ago... I want to say less than $100 maybe $75-80

OK, Thanks. I have called some places and nobody will call me back or give me a quote. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

This guy did it on the side, he was a concrete truck driver that used to have a tranny shop but got slow so he took a 9-5 but still did stuff on the side. I pulled the driveshaft monday, dropped it off Monday afternoon with new ujoints and caps taped on and had it back in Wednesday, sanded balanced and rattle canned black.

If you’re pulling it yourself and if you aren’t jacking it up make sure you chock the wheels...

I would call your local auto parts store, not autozone or the other idiots, avreal auto parts place and see if they can recommend anyone.

Good advise. Hadn't thought of calling a good auto parts store. Now days it is hard to find a good one with knowledgeable people behind the counter.

Update on my 70-80 vibration, mine was worse on decel but still heard it on accel. I only felt the vibration in my feet area and seat. I got my tires balanced for 50 that didn't fix it. Then I realized I've taken my driveshaft out several times over the last year to do maintenance. For the longest time I thought it was my cv axles, but how wrong I was. I went under my truck and checked the U joints they were all nice and tight, these are the OEM joints btw 225 and still rocking. Anyways noticed my tansfercase seal was kind of wet, not too bad but I had the vibration made it leak vibe. I noticed the DS weight and pinion yoke weights were lined up in the same side, so I thought this doesn't look right, so long story short flipped it 180* from each other. Went for a test drive got it past 80 and it was buttery smooth, I never realized how smooth the truck was til I did this at 9pm in my drive way. Worth it, so might want to check it out.

What i've learned from this was to mark the god dang DS next time you take it off. While it might not affect all trucks it sure did affect mine to where I didn't feel safe driving over 70mph.

Thanks for the update. I will check mine to see if the weights are lined up. Mine seems to be better now that I have been driving it in Auto 4WD and not in 2 high. I got into some grass and used 4WD high and 4WD low then put it in Auto and left it there. I tore up the grass pretty good with me STT PRO's but maybe it was worth it.
