I just purchased a 2012 yukon xl SLT and only have 225 miles on it so far. On the drive home I noticed the steering wheel was not centered with the driver's seat. It feels like the seat is turned to the left (outside) and the wheel is clearly closer to my right leg (about 2"). Is this normal? I took it to the service department and they said they saw the same thing but that it's not adjustable. Now that I know it's not aligned it's really bothering me. Any feedback would be appreciated. Other than that, I love my new yukon.

It already bothers me to read "I took it to the service department and they said they saw the same thing but that it's not adjustable".

If they saw it, obviously something went wrong during the assembly/manufacturing process and they should take the truck back. Sounds like the seat rails may not be properly alligned. I would NOT consider this to be normal.

SW CT,
This does sound like the seat rails are not aligned.
Now if the issue was that the wheel is not centered on the seat left to right then that is a normal condition. I don't know why they did it, but all GMT-900 GM trucks/suv's have the wheel offset from the seat.

Dang that would really bug me. I used to drive an 06 Nissan Titan (company car) and the seat was slanted to the left so I just got a new seat off ebay and replaced it.
But since yours a 2012 I would make the dealer take care of it. You could just say its dangerous to drive around in a misaligned seat.

I wonder if Chevy is doing this to all cars now. Both of my Cobalts were the same way.

My 2002 Suburban is like that, I bought it brand new. I remember someone else posting about it in a forum too.

I am going to sit behing another new one at the dealership. The alignment of the seat is parallel with the threhold of the door. So, I'm thinking the steering wheel is just offset a bit from the seat, which for some reason is normal.
