I am having a problem stopping a slow rim leak on one of the polished 22" rims on my 2016 Tahoe. I had a Firestone store take the tire off the rim, clean the bead surface and remount with a new pressure valve but that only worked for a few months, now the problem is back. Has anybody found a long term fix for this kine of problem?

Gotta first pinpoint precisely where the leak is coming from. I'd take the wheel off the truck and hit it with soapy water all the way around the tire, and everywhere you can access on the rim. I'm with Trey - I'll bet you'll find a hairline crack in the rim.

On my 22" Snowflakes the chrome at the bead and valve stem hole is coroded, tire shop cleans up the corosin but it happens again in few months. There are few solutions, new wheels, refinish current ones or convince the tire shop to use bead seal which most refuse to use since it amkes it more difficult to dismount and remount tires later and takes a while to do since it has to somewhat dry before they can remount the tires.

I had corrosion around the wheel bead on our old 2008 Escalade. Chrome wheels. It wasn't alot but must have been enough as the tire shop cleaned it up, remounted the wheel and it didn't leak after that.
The soapy water should show where it's leaking at.
I would have hoped the Firestone store would have caught a crack....

Did you observe how the shop 'cleaned' the rim? I have 20" OEM chrome wheels.

My shop uses an air-powered abrasive wheel and cleans the rim surface down to a polished finish, and then they use bead seal when re-mounting the tire. After that, the tire did not leak.

I had an issue with my wife’s 17 Yukon with the chrome 22” wheels with corrosion on a 2 wheels. My tire store cleaned the rim and applied rubber sealant to the rim and haven’t had any issues since.

If those rims are chrome, all will eventually leak. My 2011 Yukon XL had chrome rims. I had the same problem you have now. I found out at the rebuilder that chrome is just that way and he is not touching it. Found a used one and put on it. Another wheel started leaking. I got pissed and went and bought some factory aluminum take offs. Never had the problem again. I have never had the problem on any of my aluminum, steel, or PVD rims. That is 54 years with 200,000 mile or more cars/trucks. I gave the chrome rims away. That is my experience.
