Hi guys, new to the forum.

I just picked up a 2007 Yukon Denali XL. My BIL had it on his lot when we were visiting. My wife fell in love with it and now we own it. The truck needs a few things that Im working on. One thing I am struggling to find is accurate info on how to replace the drivers side motor mount. Ive read 3 different things from having to drop the front axle to get it out through the bottom to pulling the exhaust manifold to pull it from the top. Ive been looking at this thing and too me it looks like I have the room to pull it from the top as long as I pull the steering shaft and I might have the room to get it out without even doing that.

Anyone out there do it themselves?

Thanks
Jim

On my Denali with the 6.2 I had to replace both mounts. It was a $1200 job as I recall- the exhaust and crossmember all need to come down.

Thanks for the info Tow, Im trying to avoid taking it in. Id need to borrow a hoist and heat up the garage in order to do it myself. I might see what the local shop would charge tho.

Mudd,

I'm in the same boat and would like to replace both myself (6.2l Denali) in my garage with jacks. I've only seem posts of people saying you have to have a lift.

I'm guessing I'll need an engine hoist as well? I replaced all 4 motor mounts on my old AWD TT 3000GT years ago when I had it and it wasn't that bad - figured this can't be much worse!

Let me know how it goes!

I'm in the exact same boat as you guys. My driver side motor mount is out and I cannot find a resource that shows how to do it completely. That is actually how I found this forum.

Did mine twice on a lift in about a hour. With good swivels and a jack you can get it done without removing anything. Buy a oem mount.
