The rotational inertia of an AL driveshaft is lower than steel. But on an SUV, it won't make enough of a difference to matter. As others have pointed out, unless it's a race truck, why not just replace the U-joints?
That's the plan now, gonna have a shop replace the u joints and balance it. Thanks everyone for your advice and saving me $500 :)
