My 2007 Tahoe has thrown the C0045-00 left rear wheel speed sensor. My thought is to replace the sensor, and of course look for wiring issues. Just curious is this is a common problem and solution for this error code before I crawl on my back and replace it. The Tahoe has about 125000 miles on it. Thanks.

Someone with more knowledge will give a more definitive answer, but it is my understanding that these are a common maintenance item.
Having said that, I just replaced my right rear sensor with a knock off from Ebay. It lasted about 2 days with minimal miles before throwing a Speed sensor not plausible code (c0050-5a) and 20 miles more the Stabilitrak and traction control service lights came back on. I was warned to use Genuine GM sensors and have one on order. FYI

I have learned my lesson a few times with non-OEM parts such as sensors. it is particularly maddening when it is a tough part to get to. Thanks for you reply and wisdom-sharing.

Mine failed last week when I hit a hard dip in the road. 222K miles on it. I swapped it around with the RH sensor and the problem followed, so it's definitely the sensor. Don't even look at the aftermarket ones. It's a ~$60 part, but better than buying multiple $30 versions. That Torx screw (T40, IIRC) is TIGHT. I put a very blunt punch against the side and directly on top of the head and knocked on it a few good times with a mechanic's hammer to shock it loose, cleaned out the Torx head so the bit would fully engage, then cracked it loose and removed it with a bit on a 3/8" ratchet. It has thread locker on it, so heat would help. Just try to focus the heat on the block on the axle.

Last month, I replaced the sensor on my front left wheel at 154,000 miles. Fairly easy job. While the sensor is out, take a Q-Tip with alcohol on it and push it into the hole and rotate the wheel to clean any residue that may have collected on the ring with the grooves that the sensor reads.

I have code c0045-00 and have replaced my left rear wheel speed sensor three times, two Dorman parts and one Duralast part from Autozone. I feel like I should have gotten a good one out of the three, but all 3 read no speed when watching live data on my scanner while driving. Anyone know of a common spot for wire corrosion? There is maybe 6 inches of wire to this sensor that comes out of the main harness, once the wires are in that big main harness I have no idea where they come back out up front somewhere. I also never cleaned the grooves on the ring so I will try the suggested Q-tip cleaning. I've never had a problem that a YouTube video didn't tell me how to fix until now. Thanks for any suggestion anyone can offer.
I'm pretty sure the wires terminate in the BCM but I could look at a wiring diagram if needed. I would wager though that your problem is still the sensor if it's still happening after you clean the ring. Rock Auto sells the factory GM part:
