I'm looking at upgrading my mids setup, using the 4 channel amp I already have installed. The yukon currently has 4 worn out coaxials, and I am looking at adding 4 6.5s and tweeters. I have been thinking about running all 4 6.5s on ch 1/2, and running the tweets off of 3/4 in order to not have to add another amp or use crossovers. Does anyone have experience with running speakers only in the front door, or can I even run my speakers in parallel in all 4 with a lot of wire connecting them. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

what is your 4 channel connected to now? I usually run 6.5 component in the front and 6.5 duals in the rear doors

Yes, you can do what you are thinking as long as you can install the speakers properly so they actually product good sound.

You will lose fade if you intend on running front and rear speakers, but I've never come across anyone that actually cares about that except ultra SQ people (like me).

Yes you can do that just fine. Also you can hook your rears up to the rear speaker outs on the radio if you still want some rear sound.

If you connect four speakers to two channels you are only giving them half power. You also need to be aware of what the resistance will do depending if you wire them parallel or in series and if the amplifier can support it. You're better off buying better quality speakers and a DSP to tune it than the results you'll get just throwing speakers at it with no tuning ability.
