Dumb question - when are the side marker lights supposed to be on?

Replaced the parking lamp lens and bulbs (after 25 years, they needed it!!) and while I was at it, did the side marker bulbs, since they never come on. Now, either I got two bad side marker bulbs or I can't figure out what is supposed to make them turn on. The fuses say they are on circuit #9 but I am 100% positive that fuse is good. So...what function on the lights (hazards, turn signal, etc) would actually turn these lights on?

They should be commanded on when the headlights are on, or the headlight switch is in the Parking Lights position.

whenever the switch is on marker or on headlights or possibly if you have integrated fog lights then if you turned the fogs on it should also activate the marker lights but not 100% sure on that with the obs generation

might try cleaning the metal contacts after so many years there may be build-up preventing a good electrical connection
Good suggestion. On one of them I did notice a lot, although I didn't have anything handy to clean it.

I had a wire brush that wouldn't really get in there very well. Hit both of them with deoxit and it didn't help, even though they looked pretty clean after I hit them. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not too torn up about it but I will probably revisit it when it gets warm again.

if the fuse is good start checking wires for continuity, could be a break somewhere shouldn't be hard to find
