im doing my dash and plastic parts currently, then in a few weeks i'll be doing my seats, changing the carpet and headliner to a gray or black suede or microfiber.

i currently have the bezel and the area under the steering wheel done.
my stock interior was tan light/dark all the dark tan will be black and all the light tan will be gray.
currently i have 2 coats on the bezel and other area i did. i was wondering how many coats should i use and if i should use adhesive promoter or not b/c these 2 pieces i didnt use any and it adhered just fine

i was thinking my seats would need at least 4 layers???or if i can find black leather seats at pull-a-part or craigslist etc for a good price

I have used Mar-Hyde and Dupli-Color vinyl paint and fabric paint on some previous vehicles I had. I can't speak for other brands, but they do not last in ANY situation where it will get wear and tear. The fabric and carpet paint/dye such ass altogether. It makes the fabric stiff like its starched. The vinyl paint was ok except for the door panels and the B pillar where the seatbelt is. It was scratching off in no time. All the other parts did ok though. If possible, I would try and find the high wear parts in a factory color already. Or a very close color, so if it chips it wont look so bad. Like I had a car with light gray interior and changed it to Navy blue because I found a super clean set of blue seats. I found a few blue trim parts, but some I had to settle for other colors like maroon, or painted the gray ones I had. The B pillar was cracked so I replaced it with a maroon one that I painted blue. It looked like complete shit when the paint started scuffing off. On the ones that were already blue( but not the exact shade of blue ) the scuffs were barely noticeable. And I did follow the instructions on the can exactly, so it was not user error.

i do need to do the door panels though.. i was thinking putting a layer of black/gray vinyl on the doors and doing it that way vs spraying them.. i want it to last.. i dont mid doing a touch up every few months but dont want to

Shop around at some local upholstery shops, you can find some good places that will do it suprisingly cheap.
