I have a flex fuel as well. Most threads on here say stay away from it because it gunks up the engine. The only benefit that I have seen from it as a little pep from the higher octane but no real gains anywhere. In fact, it is worse than regular gas when you compare MPG. I have done it all three ways. Full gas, 50/50, and full e 85. I will buy it if it is available but I have no stations that are close to me. The only reason I tried it in the first place was it close to my sister's old house. Now I have no reason to go out of my way for it.

There are no negative effects to the engine from any of the research I've read. I also have a flex fuel capable '03 Yukon. The main reason not to use E-85 at this point is the MPG factor. E-85 is 30% less efficient than gasoline. Therefore, you won't see any benefit to your wallet unless the cost of E-85 is less than 70% of the cost of gas. I have an E-85 station right up the road from me and its $3.05/gal. while gas is $3.45/gal. That's only 12% less so I would actually be hurting my wallet. If I was an environmentalist then the E-85 has other benefits that I didn't discuss here. But if I were an environmentalist I wouldn't be driving a Yukon would I? I recycle, I'm trying to help out. But I love my big American V-8!

I use it all the time. On my Hoe and in my civic's,yes you do lose a little a mpg but if you drive like grandma(like it do) it isn't too bad but you do feel slightly better throttle response.Atleast i do.

Yes the say that it gunks up your injectors, but thats over years of use.if you hit it with fuel injector cleaner every 3-6 months you'll be fine.
