Anyone have a good pic or description Or diagram of which way the parking brake strut goes, spring included, on the rear drums?
Recently lost front brakes. Back brakes were non-existent. So I had no brakes. Rear brakes had fallen apart in the drums. Parking brake struts off on both sides. And just lodged in there. Look like one of them messed up the drum pretty good. But I have no reference as to which way these ebrake struts go or which end the spring should be on. Attached a pic of my front rotor which led to overall brake failure. One whole flange is gone. Replaced pads a while back. Old pads were totally shot and there was some scoring on the rotor. Should have replaced it then. Ended up losing entire outside flange of rotor and caliper pushing pad so far out that I lost brake fluid from the caliper piston seal. And ended up with no brakes. If I hadn't come upon a train crossing then I would have been at highway speeds for the failure. That woulda been scary. Had the family in at the time.
Next time u think u can get another month out of your rotors, remind yourself of this picture lol.
Any help on the ebrake strut appreciated.
