E fan question

The only one that switches off with the ignition is the 10a ign-e would that be safe to use to switch on a relay?

What would be a good temp to kick the fans on be? I have an adjustable relay hooked up that gets its temps from just beside the inlet on the radiator. Right now it comes on with the radiator at 165deg . The only issue is it comes on and runs for 45 - 60 seconds them shuts off and another minute and a half later it kicks back on. Kinda annoying. I think if I set it higher it would run longer and come on less.

You want the temp probe to be on the drivers side (top) to monitor the coolant coming out if the block.
If you put it on the passenger side, as soon as the fan comes on it will cool the coolant and you will just be measuring that.

The probe is in the correct place im just curious what temp to have the fans kick on.

I would kick them on just after or just on the temp setting of the thermostat. I have a 195 degree thermostat in my tahoe and my fans kick on a 199 degrees and then the temp drops to 195 and stays there all day.

You can turn them on whenever you want @ whatever temp. Once the system pressurizes & warms up the fans wont let the temps rise abov e the thermostate setting and the Thermostat wont let temps drop below what its set for(195,205,210 etc).

The sensor in the Jegs kit I got turns the fan on 5 degrees over the thermostat setting and turns it off 10 below:

185° On/170° Off for 180° thermostat
200° On/185° Off for 195° thermostat
