Looks really tight. Makes that Esky front end even sharper looking.

Does it go over the original grill it looks like it's in back of the mesh

Those are the slats I saw what do they do?

Looks like they may open or close depending on the temperature. I would assume that if that is indeed the case...they would close in extreme cold conditions and be open under normal circumstances. Of course...I could be completely wrong.

Apparently I WAS wrong: GM added active air shutters in front of the radiator that close at highway speeds for improved aerodynamics. (Source: http://www.autonews.com/article/201...ed-15-cadillac-escalade-premieres-in-new-york)

That is really sharp. I've considered a similar look for my '10. Still researching though.. I don't think I've found what I'm looking for yet.
