I dont get the same range (Mileage) or power out of E-85.

I tend to avoid it unless it is significantly cheaper.

Like Panzer said, worse mileage, but it's a little bit cheaper. So it ends up almost being a wash. Personally, I wouldn't try anything new. Who knows at this point with the mileage you have, if it will mess anything up? I'm pretty sure nothing adverse would happen, but I wouldn't want to risk it if it were me.

It won't hurt anything to switch now, the PCM will adjust as necessary to run with E85. These trucks actually have a physical sensor next to the fuel filter to detect what fuel is in it whereas the new body style vehicles use O2 sensor readings to make the adjustments.

The price is cheaper, but like siad above the milage suffers.

I have been told that if you switch to it, try to use it and not switch back and forth between different grades of fuel.

Tried E85 a couple yrs ago. 10-15% worse mileage, but usually only 7% cheaper. HIgher octane, but less power than regular gasoline. REad somewhere that it's not recommended for long trips. Our problem around here is that only smaller (non- top tier) stations carry it, with questionable storage tanks. We ended up with clogged injectors beyond repair...required replacement of 3 injectors, which wasn't cheap. There ended our experiment with E85.

Never used it, and after reading about it, never plan to either. If I ever find myself out in the middle of no where, and e85 is the only thing... then maybe. haha

Maybe not at this mileage. Ethanol is a good solvent and will break up any deposits in your system... possibly plugging injectors, etc.

I run a tank of E85 in my 07 Yukon 5.3 every 4th or 5th fill-up to keep it clean. It gets significantly worse mileage (~15-16 hwy versus 19 w/ regular), but it does feel more peppy. I think GM adds in more timing with E85 since it's definitely stronger with it.

yes, that is exactly what they do to take advantage of the increased octane. And run it leaner too.
