hey guys, i have a tahoe z71 with mickey thompson baja atz and its starting to snow and ice up around my area. What's the likely hood i'll see my tires slip and the car somewhere in a ditch? Should i risk using these tires or will it be fine under moderate weather conditions and easy driving? What winter set would you recommend if i had to swap out the tires?

+1 to all of the above.

Also remember that having 4wd does not make you stop any better than anyone else, so give yourself space. That's probably the biggest cause of accidents up here. Idiots with a false sense of security just because they are in a 4x4.

Also, spinning your tires may help in mud, but only makes things worse in snow and ice. You either bury yourself or hotwax the ice underneath you making it even more slick. I always laugh at these people....the ones sitting at a stoplight going nowhere because they are just spinning their tires.

I could go on and on about idiot driving in snow....I live among the best of them, and it's because of them that we have some of the highest car insurance rates in the country.
