Hey guys,
I said in another post that I would upload pics after I installed the CAI that I bought from Ebay. Well here it is...
I would rate it a mediocre quality intake. Very generic.
The heat shield is more of a universal fit. The 2 holes on the bottom of the heat shield did not line up to the bolts on the car , so I had to install it using only 1 hole and bolt to hold it in place. It should be secure enough but if it moves around for some reason, I will update this thread to let you guys know.
The intake tubing itself was too long and I had to cut the tubing and shorten it. It was a pain in the butt and you really have to have tools handy in order to be able to do that. I luckily had the necessary tools.
Filter - Not sure about quality but it looks very generic. It is no K&N or Airaid.. lol
Map sensor bracket on the intake is slightly oversized. So there might be a tiny leak around the hole where the map sensor goes in, but it is minimal. I might take it off and try ti stick a thick rubber band or something in there to clog up the hole.
Also the screws provided for the map sensor to screw into the intake is too long so I had to file it down a little in order for it to fit.
Sound: this is the only positive thing I can say about this, it sounds throaty and sounds real good.
One problem I came across during the install was... I forgot to plug the Map Sensor back in after the install and I drove the car around the block. My engine light came on and my Stability light came on. Im not sure what the stability has to do with the intake map sensor but when I plugged it back in, the stability light went away. Engine light, however, stayed on and is still on.
I have 3 questions for the experts on this forum.
1- WIll the Engine light go away on its own since I plugged the Map sensor back in?
2- Do I have to disconnect the battery to reset the computer after a Intake install.
3- WIll disconnecting the battery cause my stock non-navi bose radio to reset and then require a anti-theft code? I do not have that code so should I not do it then?
Thanks guys!
