Does anyone have any real numbers as to if they are getting any fuel economy increases by installing electric fans? I have an 04 Yukon XL with the 5.3 and need a place to start.

Not sure on the numbers but the throttle response is to die for, it's way better than a belt driven fan!! Also, colder A/C and frees up space in the engine compartment!!

I got mine from an 05 Yukon. Dorman factory units are what you want. Junk yards are a good place to start, but most want about $250 for the fans/shroud since a lot of people are doing the conversion and they can get it. I average about 15mpg city in my HOE running 93 octane fuel/tune and not being nice to it.hehe.

throttle response is great once you get rid of that mech fan and even though I have a short in my harness making my fans act all weird I refuse to go back to the belt drive factory crap. I'm just going to replace the harness. It was great to ride around this summer without that loud fan noise and lag when taking off and a/c being cold as can be and I could sit in hot traffic without worrying about overheating. that alone made it worth it for me.
