I just replaced my EGR valve. When I took the old one off it was packed full of carbon along with the square hole and round hole in the intake. I just sprayed some carb cleaner on the two intake holes and put the new one on. Now that I'm thinking about it, it seems like I should remove the intake manifold and completely clean it. It's been seriously lacking power, especially at higher speeds.

unknown at this time.
if you want to de-carbon the intake try seafoaiming first using the proper method first. but have your fuel pressure and data sensor examined as well.

Well I did put a spray can of seafoam through the throttle body per the instructions. No smoke. I am not sure if there is a difference in performance or not.

Nope. I'm actually dealing with a no compression cylinder right now so not too worried about the sea foam.
