I was searching around and couldnt find anything on the fuse holder everyone is using. I Have the flex-alite 280 kit on my escalade right now and it is blowing fuses left and right. Cant find the problem. It is wired right. Ground is good, power is good. It will be fine then randomly blow a fuse. I dont see how it could be fan motors are dead or dying, have had the fans for less than 2 years. Im thinking it is the fuse holder or the supplied controller. I have two questions...
It says a 30 amp fuse is only required, but would trying a 40 amp hurt?
What fuse holder is everyone using for their do-it-yourself kits that yall have?

Thanks for the help guys,
Nick

unknown at this time.
Use the 30 amp only. Have you tried contacting flexalite? They may have some testing instructions for you. You can also tear it down and run amperage draw testing on each fan. Does this only happen when fans are at full speed or just as they start to come online at low speed?

SunlitComet- Thanks for the response. No i haven't contacted them, will do tomorrow though. In 2 weeks when spring break comes around me and my dad were going to break it down and see whats going on. I wouldn't think that the fans are dead already. Personally, ive never noticed a difference in the speeds of the fans. Supposed to start at 60 then go to 100 when needed. Mine just sound like it is either 60% or 100% all the time. They have been weird for awhile though. They were on my Yukon (before it was totaled) and it blew fuses like 3 times randomly. Took them off my yukon and put on the caddy and they worked fine for a month, have blown atleast 12 fuses in the past month.

Okay Sunlit, I called flexalite and they told me that they don't know why they are blowing the 30 amp fuse. The new 280 kit is being supplied with a 40 amp fuse and that I should put the 40 amp fuse in and see what happens. They also said to check the motors, the motors should pull 14-17 amps if they are good. Anything less than 14 and they need to be replaced. Ill check motors in about 2 weeks. I put the 40 amp fuse in and it has worked fine for the 30 minutes I drove the car around. SO we shall see!
