I don’t know if you noticed, but there is no such thing as real news anymore. They’re all propaganda or entertainment. They are filled with insults when you disagree with their line. How can several “news” stations have several different guests on and have them all say the same things, almost word for word. It’s seems like they all pick up a script.
I have no belief that I will make people “see my side”.Hey all, agree with cardude or get insulted. What a stupid way to make people see your side. Makes you look limited and invalidates whatever point you had.
Lastly, you’re right and I’ve never disagreed that EV are coming, but the current tech make them more trouble than they are worth.

Right. The point is our path to “energy independence” has been happening to decades and includes 40% renewables/nuclear today. Shale oil is a big part of it too. No doubt.Did you read the article. It said we exported more petroleum products. It also said that we exported distillate fuels such as diesel, made from Canadian oil.
It says we were still a net importer of crude oil. Plastics are petroleum products.
The loan to Solyndra was applied for and fast tracked during the Bush administration. I’m not arguing that it was finalized after he was out of office.Bush said no to any money to bail out Solyndra. Obama gave them 500plus million
Private investors do what private investors do.
The point is not to invest govt money in schemes, that politicians get the kickback from in the form of a contribution.
I don’t know if you noticed but I quoted two pretty left leaning news sources
there is a difference between petroleum product and Energy. Plastic is a petroleum product
I do wish to thank you though. It’s rare to get stimulating debates

$500 million in bad loans is nothing compared to trillions in bad wars that are nothing more than boondoggles to ensure we have cheap fuel for inefficient combustion...
The point I was making is that regardless of administration the government has always put its hand on the scale of technology and industry that it believes is the right long-term choice for the country.
And agreed. Thanks for staying civil. Some back and forth jabs are always fun and I’m glad you can hang without stomping off!
