I've been a member of so many forums and always lurked around for info and visited the for sale section everyday. I've never posted a build thread so I figured I would start one. I purchased my 2003 Tahoe from a friend back in August of 2013 with 125xxx miles. The only reason he sold it was because someone attempted to steal it. So he was really bummed and sold it to me. The truck does have a rebuilt title. I never really noticed what was wrong with until after purchase. It appears the front passenger side was hit. So ever since purchase it's just been sitting in my drive way. I recently started driving it about a month ago. It has the 4.8 and it has every option except for sunroof and nav. It has the quad seats. Anyways onto the pics.
First Purchased. I really hated the front end, and I didn't really care for the taillights. So all that had to go.
One week later. Sold the whole front end, and traded the LED taillights for some stock taillights, had them smoked. Also added the escalade roof rack.
One month later I added the HD grille and Black housing headlights. When installing the grille and lights is when I noticed the front end was all out of whack.
Later on added the escalade steps. I actually purchased 2 sets. The first set was only the covers because I was told I could just unbolt the tahoe covers on my steps and these would bolt on. They were completely wrong. So I purchased another complete set of steps. I did minor trimming to the rear fender flares to fit them.
After sitting for so long and getting boosted every now and then to start. The battery finally gave up. So I replaced it with a new battery.
Then I acquired an OEM HD hood with a minor dent, just never installed it because I still had my factory hood. When I sold the hood stock then I installed the HD hood.
Around winter time. I stumbled upon a guy parting out a 2500 silverado. Since my bumper was already messed up, I needed everything the bumper pad, bumper, and valance. He sold me the HD bumper cap, chrome bumper, and valance for $50. When I went to go pick up the parts I noticed he had a HD grille aswell with the chrome peeling he sold it to me for $20 bucks, the main reason I purchased it was for the emblem since mine didn't have one.
I traded the grille for a set of mcghauphy's drop springs. The guy wanted to the grille mainly for the emblem and since I got it for $20 bucks I figured why not. I installed the springs and slightly decranked the keys. The truck did not drop what so ever. I was pissed off.
I work at a restaurant, my friends drop by every now and then for some food. One day my friend came by with a roll pan and he said hook me and I'll give it you. I always hook them up so I was like whatever... I didn't plan on putting it, I sold it the next day for $100.
I ordered new bumper brackets since the ones that were on there were ******. They arrived and sat in the box for awhile until one day I said **** it and went to the muffler shop down the street to get the bumper put on. Since the truck had been wrecked before it was a ***** to put it on. The outcome was decent. And somewhere between all these events I traded the red HD hood with a dent for non OEM new black hood. Which was a big mistake. When I drove it to the shop I guess the drop finally settled and it dropped. I guess since I never moved it now the suspension flexed. I also had them cut the muffler off while I was there.
Later I added the Escalade rear vents and sold the 24s.

When I started driving it with the 26s I was kinda wasted one night one my way home and hit a pit hole, and bent one of the 26s. So now I'm rolling on stocks. When I fix the 26s I wanna throw them on the navigator and do some ck375s on the tahoe.
Within the last month. I added a new valance of the 05/06 lips, along with foglights. Vortecmax emblems. Denali Rear bumper. I had plastidipped the wheels but my brother works at a carwash and I run it by almost every other day.
First time I ever filled it up. lol.
Then I took it to a friends shop. We installed LEDs inside and out. Added new HIDs 5k top and bottom. Also installed a pionner double din with bluetooth since the crappy factory radio gave up. Upon installing the HIDs is when I noticed I ****** up by trading the hood, the passenger hood hinge is messed up. Since the taiwan hoods aren't so strong it started bending on the passenger side and well now it looks like shit.
And last weekend I had a blow out on the freeway, it messed up my quarter panel, I did my best to fix it on my own. Not bad for a first timer.
How the truck currently sits now. I have an escalade steering wheel waiting to install. Just havent had time. I might do the body work for paint myself... don't know. So this is where I'm at now. lol
