Over the weekend I installed Emergency response lighting in my Denali.

Since my job requires that I respond to all hazards of Emergency Management. Behind the grill I installed a 26" aluminum flat bar just below the hood release mount and place 4 Red/Blue strobe lights across the bar attached to the aluminum bar. At the rear across the top of the window, I added two more R/B strobes to shine out through the back window. In Each corner I installed in the light housings a White strobe the catches the reflector to bounce the light both to the front and rear and to the sides.

Next project to finish are to install the lights to better enhance side lighting.

And install the second deep cycle battery to handle the load.
What does GM use as an Isolator to separate the batteries?

Or does anyone have an option idea for the isolator?

The GM dealer I checked on for the parts to add the second battery claimed there was no such thing as and isolator or any other relay to use. they suggested that I purchase the cable that is on the vehicles that come with the extra battery.

Following that idea the second battery connects directly to the original battery positive post and runs to the Positive post of the second battery. This is both batteries at the same time but also would drain both batteries evenly the same, defeating the purpose of the spare battery (deep cycle) from doing the work of taking the load with the vehicle turned off.

Would like to see a vid of your light setup..as for the dual battery setup, I know there are kits you can buy like on summitracing.com to run a battery setup like what you are looking for..what exactly do you do in the emergency management work field? I'm a volunteer fireman, my tahoe is all set with lights..all my lights on there, I just run a single battery because LEDs don't use much power and you can run them for a long time without killing your battery..

there is a post i read on here a few weeks ago about the second battery install, and indeed, there is no need for an isolator. the post had all the part numbers listed for the OEM parts required.

Emergency Lights

I will get some video of the lights to post later.

If this works I put on the photo and instructions I made when I completed the second battery hook up and one on the Switched in the console.

Ok I could not load the whole page with the instructions on the battery hookup but if you would like to see it pm me and I can try to send it to you that way.

But here are a few photos of the install which should give you the idea of what I did.
