More likely scenario is lost keys not keys locked in car.
In that scenario a keypad wont help anything...unless its raining out I guess

I hide my key behind a screw in the license plate.
If the ignition key requires a coded key I put that in the glove box.
You always have a quarter or nickel. Near a store to buy a screw driver.
Saved my family now for over 30 years and it is NOT MESSY.
You must drill a hole in the key. All 4 of our cars had them at one time.
Kids are married and they still do. CLEAN
Onstar is cellular based. Uses the 4G-LTE radioI thought onstar was satellite based. Have you ever pushed the blue button when you were in the secluded location just to see what happens.
