Hi,
I'm pissed off with this mess. REally If i didn't need the money I would burn it down to the ground.
I've installed a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT in place of the OEM 6 disc player using a GMOS-04.
First the GMOS has a failure and doesn't give constant 12V. I had to run a wire from the battery directly to the universal plug of the Head Unit.
I have sound level issue : the volume goes up from 0 to 40.
FM radios are ok, but with USB, even at vol.36 it's too low for me when driving on the highway at 80mph.
When the USB is read at level 36 it's saturated. Bass are awfull...
The bose system did not have this issue...

This would be a small problem if alone. But the fact are I can't let my Tahoe in the parking lot from friday evening to monday morning without having to plus another battery to start it. 2 full days unused and the battery is empty.
This is a new battery I bought last week of december, 550 EN, 68Ah. Can't go bigger : not enough room there.
I'm thinking of removing the GMOS-04, the Bose amplifier (so long for the good sound) and the bose speakers and replacing everything with aftermarket compatible stuff.

I'd like to hear your stories about similar issues you had.

simple but stupid, I know it sounds crazy but install a toggle switch inline on the 12v feed. it may be a pita if you have to reset the clock, presets etc. I did that in my motor home so as to not have the parasitic draw. just my 2cents worth

Sooo... the factory harness has constant 12v in it. Shouldn't have needed to run a wire. The only one missing is a 12v accessory wire, which the gmos4 should take care of I believe. If not it's simple to aquire from the fuse box. I'm wondering if you didn't hook constant 12v to the accessory wire and that's why your having battery issues...

Thanks every tought is helpful. I could to that but that's a pita no to enjoy fully what you've bought.

There are three wires coming out from the GMOS that are concerned : one of them is the accessory wire that workd just fine. The other twos are red wires that are supposed to be connected together and then linked to the H.U. harness wire for constant 12V. Sadly those two together just give at their best 5V.
One way or another the HU detect when I remove the key because it shuts off after a few seconds or if I open the door.
Of course I'll check again since I have to plug the steering wheel remote, the Bluetooth microphone and a backup camera. But I'm 100% sure I did it correctly.

What do you have the stock amp turn on hooked up to? I would double check that too.

As for the 2 reds, if they don't work. Disregard those and use the constant 12v off the truck harness.
