Alright, I have a noise coming from the engine bay of my vehicle (2022 6.2l Yukon Denali), I compare it to the sound of a baseball card or piece of cardboard flapping against a bike spoke (not a tick or ping). The sound follows RPM up to about 25-30MPH and then goes away. Also, if I rev it while in park it follows RPMs up to about 3000 and then goes away and comes back as soon as it falls below 3000. Does it at idle as well.

Anyone have this issue? I have a cell phone video but can't post videos here.

I would look at the belt or belts to see if it's coming apart or something is touching/rubbing anywhere near the belt. If you don't see anything my first step in trouble shooting is to remove all the belts (don't know if yours has 1 or 2 belts) and see if the noise goes away. I can't imagine that type of noise coming from the motor itself but could be inside the bell housing.
FYI there isn't a belt tensioner so you need special tools to remove and get it back on.

FML. Sounds very similar. It's not as loud but very similar.

Having seen the post above. I was about ready to trade my Yukon in on Denali Ultimate truck. If my engine is toast, I assume my vehicle value is going to plummet? Anyone have any insight? I service my truck at the same dealer I purchased from, hoping they will take care of me if this is a catastrophic failure...

I can't imagine that the sound you're hearing is directly related to your motor's internals.

Take the truck to a local shop (not the dealer), and put it on a lift that has the capability of getting the tires off the ground. Then, have someone inside the truck start the motor and shift it into gear. Another person, presumably the mechanic, will then walk around under the truck and find the source of your noise.

@DenaliCountry How many miles on your rig? Under warranty still? I am not an expert on depreciation but I don't think a dealer replaced engine will affect the value very much. If the engine is bad the deal will know it when you trade. Maybe they will take in for warranty repair and get you in a new rig at the same time so you don thave to wait for month for the engine.

34K miles. Bumper to Bumper just ended on 2/2/25, Powertrain is still active. I drop it off tomorrow so I will get a better idea of the situation hopefully by the end of the day. It drives completely normal aside from the noise, so I am hopeful it's not a major issue.

Welp, dealer confirmed the engine is blown. Waiting on what happens next. Anyone have any experience with buybacks? They said it could be a long wait time based on the current back orders on 6.2l engines.
