Engine clatter/ blue smoke

My wifes 09 tahoe developed a start up clatter with blue smoke over the last few days. We use royal purple at 5k intervals and no noticeable oil usage. Any ideas

Might as well start with the simple stuff first. Suck some Seafoam through the brake booster, then remove the PCV hose (it's kind of a pain to twist it off at the back of the block) and spray some carb cleaner through that. Take off the throttle body too, shine a flashlight down the manifold and see if you can see excessive oil residue.
