Guys,

I know that this has been discussed before, but I couldn't seem to locate it via search, so I thought I would just throw it out there.

Most times when I am backing out of my driveway and shift from R to D, the engine revs up to about 1500 before shifting into D. I'm not one of those people (my wife!) who slams it directly from R to D without letting the vehicle stop rolling backwards. Usually, I will even pause in N until the vehicle comes to a stop before shifting into D.

I have also noticed a similar situation while slowing to a stop and the tranny is downshifting on its own. The engine revs up and I can actually feel the truck working against the brakes.

Tranny in need of a software update? Re-calibration? Anyone else see this on their truck?

Thanks,

Sievz

It does sound like a programming issue. Man I should buy sea-foam stock. You may as well urinate on it and call it a day. It would do as much as sea-foam...Does the idle go up when shifting into park?

This is normal, engine should rev like that when cold to warm up. Your wife just gets it warmed up faster. She is not doing anything wrong. Once its in gear, it will idle down quickly. The rev in gear sounds like a bunch of Torque Management. Thus giving you a warranty now. I plan to remove all 100% of it on my 01. A 2010 will have 10X more tq management. It gets worst every year. Have a custom pcm tune at Blackbear or something.
