Is there another dealer you can go to? Your dealer should be the one dealing with GM, not you. If they aren't confident enough to positively diagnose your problem, that's their problem. You brought it to them to diagnose and fix a problem; not take wild stabs at it that may or may not be the problem.

If you don't have another dealer, it sounds like GM is willing to cover an hour of labor, which should be enough time to pull the valve covers and take a peak. Hell I had an entire engine replaced in less than 4 hours on a fwd grand prix and that included swapping all the electrical and accessories from the old engine to the new.

Yes, I do have a dealer near to me. I may have a chat with them.

OP , I will tell you I have experienced the exact same thing within the last 2 weeks. It ended up being the oil pump or the o-ring which connect the pickup tube assembly to the pump but I replaced both and now I'm back to normal.

What led me to this is I had a ticking just like you. I read forums and saw YouTube videos galore. Then I read a comment on a video that mentioned the oil pump and it made sense.

I have one question for you. Do you have any changes in your oil pressure gauge?

Please God tell me you just solved my problem. It's a ticking that happens when you accelerate. It ticks faster as you accelerate. The oil gauge just started to shoot up too.. Was this what you're referring to?

I had the o-ring issue and it was at idol and startup, not while driving. The oil pressure would read low not high.

I had an H3,(wifes) I had it back for so much warranty crap. They fixed the small stuff :wtf2:and nothing of the complaints I was giving.Over heating problem, morning start up tick, smoke on start up, stuff like that. Then they said they couldn't find anything! I got so feed up I sold it. Just so I didn't have to deal with them.:boxing: I have MANY MANY talks to GM Canada and Got absolutely not where.:emotions122: :favorites68:So I feel your pain.
I will continue to buy GM but out of warranty and a few years old and fix it myself. no more warranty B.S. :happy107:
