We spend a lot of blood sweat and tears on our rides. We work hard to get them how we want them. Saying all that, why not put your ride to the test? I had time off so I packed my bags, filled up the tank and fluids and hit the road. As of this post I am half way. I start the trek back Monday.
My destination from Dallas, Tx was a little town on the Oregon coast named Otter Rock. The first 2100 miles was getting there, the last 2400 are going to be going back. 9 days of driving, 2 days relaxing.
On the way up I drove 12 hours across TX and stayed in Trinidad, CO. Next, I went up to Wyoming, across to Northern Utah and Southern Idaho then driving thru central Oregon ending up on the coast. 4 days beautiful scenery and many spontaneous detours.
On the return I go down Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco, cut to Oakland then to Eastern Cali where the national parks are, Death Valley to Las Vegas then straight thru to Arizona, New Mexico back to Dallas.
My truck has several mods all I did myself and a friend on the front suspension.
K&N CAI
57 series flowmaster
3" lift spindles
Z71 springs
1" polyurethane spacer
Bilstein 5100 shocks
Belltech Sway bars
22" chrome
305/45/22 Hankook Dynapro AT
HD hood unpainted
Trimmed HD grill
Halo headlights
LED all around
Other minor things
Truck feels strong the whole way, gas sucks but the 22's look good. Sleep in the truck for gas money instead of hotel. There are so many beautiful parks I just stop in, catch some sleep and keep going.
