Escalade Heated/Cooled Seat Fix

Not sure if the GMC and Chevy have the same heated/cooled seats but if so then this will fix it.

The majority of the heated seat problems is the burnt pin on the plug for the CCSM module under the passenger seat. We clean the contact and reconnect so itll work for another week or month or whatever. But there is obviously a problem with the design, too much amperage on that corner ground wire or the small connection at that point.

I found this video that looks very interesting

It looks like the 07 ford expedition uses the same 12 point plug on the same type of motorola module and has the same burning problems. Ford is ahead of GM it looks like because he bought a new harness that has a fix, it uses the one existing wire going to the corner pin and splits it into 2 wires going to 2 pins on the connector instead of the 1 for the burnt wire pin, so it disperses the power better and doesnt burn up. He explains in the instructions he had to combine 2 wires into 1. Colors dont matter, just line up the same wires to the same spot on the connector.

I know for my truck, the burnt pin has no wire in the slot next to it. But there is a pin for that slot on the control module. This new fix uses those 2 pins to ground instead of just the corner one.

I took apart the module and sure enough the pin next to the one that burns up is connected on the circuit board to the one next to it. So I just used a jumper wire from that open slot and connected that wire to the existing wire for the corner slot. Everything is working properly.

But you can buy just the pins for a few cents from the dealer or online and wire this up yourself just adding a wire to the pin next to the one that burns, instead of redoing the whole connector and every wire. Here is a link to the pin in the harness

Or just jam a wire into the harness far enough it makes contact with the module pin if you want a ghetto fix.

Does this kill both seats when it happens? Reason I ask is that my passenger seat works, driver does not. Switches both light up.

Will a code reader pickup the communication problem if this is burnt? I'd love to find a way to trouble shoot mine....

Here's the big question, is the motorcraft pigtail kit fit for out Tahoe Yukon? If it fits, we just might have a great fix for a lot of owner that has the burnt connection.

So I traced my seat heater and cooler issue down and found this burned pin.

I found this totally legit earlier repair on the wiring (tape removed for clarity.)



Here's the burnt pin on the connector. Sorry about the focus but there's my seat cooling fan.


And the pin on the circuit board where this connects.


Someone posted that the connector next to this pin is connected to it on the circuit board so he added a jumper to use two pins. My connector doesn't have the contacts in the unused hole so I'm going to add a wire around the pin.

I have a 2010 Tahoe LTZ with 55K. I too have problems with front heated / cooled bucket seats. The indicator lights for both front buckets come on and stay on when sellected, however both buckets (btm and back) seats do not heat. Both 2nd row buckets will heat.

Anyone have such a problem and find a fix? I would appreciate any words of wisdom you may have.

This. The module is mounted to the front of the front right seat underneath. Look there first. The lights on my switches indicated they were working too when they weren't.

Did u jumper to the ground wire or the supply brown w stipe wire?
