Interesting. My gasket looks a little different. The only reason I could think there would be a gap is because on mine, there's a little extra plastic piece around the pegs that matches on the other end of the peg inside the cap. It's supposed to sit on the gasket but sometimes it gets stuck around the peg inside the cap when you take the cap off and then it downs t go back on flush so you have to take it off the cap and out it back on the cap. Ill sank a pic shortly when I go outside to the driveway.
Still interested to see picture of underside of your caps and inside of caps. Was thinking about chalking those front tabs on mine and see if they are contacting inside the cap. If so taking the cut off wheel to them May have to fine another gasket set. Or possibly just end insert Thanks again

Here's the underside of the cap. This new website is quite irritating. Pics are not working like they are supposed to.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. Above and beyond. The peg on my front passenger side is missing about 3/8". Not getting much purchase with cap. I'll run them naked for now. I'd rather wait and get a new insert piece than loose a fresh painted cap on the road

Yeah go without. Had same issue with mine and it blew right off. Lucky I was able to find one. Now with the racks being discontinued, everything will be in shorter supply.

Agreed. I spent $120 just to get the darn caps matched to my color. The silver on the escalade isn't the same silver on my Denali so it had to done by a body shop. Pesky little buggers. If your caps are already painted, better safe than sorry lol.

Looking for a little clip that goes inside the end caps for the escalade rack. I was told this rack came from a 2010 escalade, however I'm open to the reality that may be incorrect. Picture attached. All help appreciated.

Anyone found a way to get just this metal clip without having to purchase a new end cap?

Fully assembled.

Ok now the how to.
there are 5 bolts per side. 2 on the front end, 2 on the rear and one in the middle. They are a T25 torx Bit. Once unbolted, the whole Rail is Ready to come off. Save all the bolts, your going to reuse them. Repeat for other side.

Now is a good time to Clean the area under the old roof rack. I ended up washing and Buffing those areas. Some of the outlines can still be seen but its on top and im not to worried about it.

Now for the install.

The endcaps on the esky racks are held in by a clip. Pry up on them and set them aside.

There is a anchor nut that you need to install. I had ordered them from Gmpartsdirect.com and they got me in shipping. Here is the part number so maybe you can get them from the dealer cheaper. I paid like 30 bucks for 2 and shipping.

Take one of the Bolts you removed from the original Racks and put in through the nut and install on to the middle Hole.

Take the rack and install it over the anchor nut and slide it back to lock the center into place and match the Mounting holes. Install the 2 bolts for the front and rear. Repeat for the other side

Your truck looks real nice with the blackout!!
The centre bolts. Are the just a plastic retainer that you slide the oem bolt through?
I’m leaving mine chrome and shiny. Lol. If you get this message... thx
