About a week ago I drove my truck to the store with the old lady and I started the truck with my remote from inside the store to get the truck warmed back up before we left. I have a 2 way remote and it alerted me that it had successfully started. When we get to the truck it wasn't running, I thought maybe I misread the alert the remote gave me so I got in and started the truck and it wouldn't idle on its own. I had to keep the idle up all the way home to keep it from stalling. It was cold and rainy so I didn't bother to look at it when we got back. The next day (no rain) I jumped in and it started right up and idled perfect, the truck continued to run great for the next few days and then it started raining, now the truck wont idle on its own again. Every time the rain clears up the truck runs great. Any ideas? It surprisingly hasn't thrown a code. Besides not idling the truck runs fine once its moving.

What year? Early models used distributor cap and rotor. Look for cracks, humidity under cap.

2004, so it has the individual coils. I just changed the plugs and wires a couple months ago so I cant imagine any of that would have gone bad already.

Did you possibly hit a huge puddle of water while it was raining?
a wet MAf will cause the issue but what stumps me is that it happens everytime it rains after. Sounds like a wiring issue and if I had to guess it would be at the firewall area.

Got it figured out today. Went out to start it this morning for work with a light rain, turned the key and got nothing, just clicks. The positive terminal worked itself loose. Tightened it back up, jumped it and it ran great all day even with rain. Not really sure why it ran ok with a loose terminal when it wasn't raining but it all seems to be good again. Thank god because I was dreading tracking down an electrical issue.
