I have a rear window glass with the third brake light attached, from a 2003 Escalade. I tried to remove the brake light and it looks like I would not only damage it by removing it, but there are actually holes drilled THROUGH the glass with screws going through those holes to bolt the rear brake light assembly on. You need to a ap the whole rear glass, not just the light.

So that tells me that the glass you have is the hatch with the low profile handle that stretches across the bottom of the glass. Like this one in the pic The other style has The small handle in the lower middle section of the glass. If I find an esky with the same tailgate glass as mine than I don't need the whole glass because the glass will unscrew from the taillight assembly without damaging it.

Yes, I have the one that looks like that picture. In late 04 or in 05 they started making the glass without that rubber "frame" around the glass. The hinges actually bolted through the glass at the top instead of being part of that glued on rubberized frame. That style glass also came on Tables, Suburbans and Yukons, but it had a large black plastic piece across the top that is about the same size as an esky brake light. It has no rubberized frame around the glass and just a small lift handle at the bottom bolted through the glass.
