I have 21k on the Denali and the pads are good. I've noticed lately that the rotors have excessive grooves in them. I mentioned this to the dealer and they claim it's from salty roads in the winter time and the materials they use for the rotor. I have a hard time believing this because none of my other vehicles are like this. Anyone else notice this?

Same over here. The cheap rotors need replacing before the pads do.

:word: go get yourself some good quality rotors and this shouldn't happen. I've had issues in the past with "GM issued" rotors

This shouldn’t happen with the stock rotors and I feel GM should replace them, not me. I have a Jeep and I put the cheapest rotors I could find on it and it doesn’t do this.

02lightning,

If you have not already done so, I encourage that you speak with GMC Customer Assistance. They will be able to let you know if there is anyway you can get your rotors replaced at no charge to you. Here is the number to GMC Customer Assistance 800-462-8782. Their hours of operation are 8AM-9PM ET Monday-Saturday.

Thank you!

Elizabeth I tried getting the dealer to replace mine but they said its normal wear and tear!! :(
What type of car has completely heat damaged (warped) rotors at 12000 miles when I first noticed it and told them?? Now I have double the miles and the rotors are in their last days of functional use.
And even if they did replace it, they will do so with the same useless design that will eventually have the same fate, just like the door lock actuator issue.

I have 74k on my original 2007 rotors and they're still in perfectly good shape... :Boo:
